What I do
I work primarily in the areas of property, commercial law and trusts. I also provide specialist advice to the University of Canterbury on a wide range of law relating to the activities of the University including education specific issues, law relating to commercial and property activities, information and intellectual property law.
How I like to work with clients
It’s important to know your client by understanding the context of their issue. Face to face contact is important or where that’s not possible, at least a phone call to discuss their concerns. It’s important to give clients practical options that they understand and are ultimately comfortable with.
My approach to client service
I’ve built strong relationships with our clients over many years which has helped me gained a good understanding of what they require and thus enabling me to guide them through practical options to resolve their issues. Clients also like to know where they stand on an issue quickly. My approach is to make sure that happens.
What I like doing after hours
Increasingly, more time is being devoted to my family and grandchildren, which is great fun.
