Principal Areas of PracticeLindsay commenced practice in 1974, joining the firm of Macfarlanes, where he later became a partner.
He advises on all aspects of property law including subdivision and land development, ownership structures and financing. Lindsay’s specialist knowledge is widely recognised and resulted in him being appointed as the founding Chair of the New Zealand Law Society Property Law Section in 2000. This was a position he held for four years. The Section now has over 1,200 members. He remains on the executive of that Section.
Lindsay also advises on all aspects of commercial law including financing and refinancing of commercial ventures, business acquisitions and sales, commercial leases, licensing and franchising agreements.
Lindsay has an established trust practice focussing on trusts and estate planning, asset protection, formation and administration of trusts and acting as trustee in substantial trusts with property and business investments. He is a Trustee of the Dame Malvina Foundation.
He advises overseas persons on acquisitions of property, setting up of trusts and business within New Zealand in a wide range of sectors.
He has extensive personal interests and professional experience in property development, forestry syndication, rest home care, vineyard development and irrigation schemes.
Lindsay is also director of a number of private companies.
He is additionally involved in honorary and charitable work where his legal skills are of assistance.
