Principal Areas of PracticeMark’s practice primarily involves company and commercial law, trust and estate planning and conveyancing.
He provides advice on company and commercial law, structuring, acquisition and financing of businesses and on development, structuring and establishment of joint ventures and partnerships, for both individuals and corporates.
In addition Mark provides advice on conveyancing for residential and commercial/industrial property, building contracts, leasing of premises, financing of land transactions and property development.
He has an extensive practice in the formation and administration of trusts and in asset protection and estate planning.
Since 1987 Mark has been involved (initially as an executive director, shareholder and chairman) in the development of one of New Zealand’s largest retail travel companies which has become an iconic New Zealand brand with offices throughout the country. For 16 years Mark has been a board member of the Travel Agents Association of New Zealand (TAANZ) with a particular emphasis on the Consumer and Airline Protection Scheme operated by TAANZ, and he is currently Vice President of the Association. He has been or is currently a trustee or legal advisor to various charitable trusts and to community organisations such as Ronald McDonald House South Island Trust, the VSA Foundation, and Step Ahead Trust; he was involved for 20 years with Volunteer Service Abroad (including an assignment in Sarawak and 15 years on the VSA Board – including 2 years as Chairperson). He acts in an honorary capacity with some community associations.
Mark is a director of various private companies.
