What I do

I’m primarily involved in providing advice to clients involving property, company and commercial law, as well as trusts and estate planning.

I provide advice on property transactions including residential and commercial/industrial property, building contracts, leasing of premises, financing of land transactions and property development

My company and commercial law expertise includes structuring, acquisition and financing of businesses and on development, structuring and establishment of joint ventures and partnerships, for both individuals and corporates.

I’m involved with charitable organisations including Ronald McDonald House.

I also have a strong interest in the travel industry, which includes an involvement as a board member to TAANZ.

How I like to work with clients

My clients include both New Zealand and overseas based people, many of whom I have worked with for long periods during my career.  I enjoy the interaction with them, the challenges which their work brings and the sense of fulfilment which comes with the successful completion of their projects.

My approach to client service

I like to think I know my clients well and have known some for over 40 years.  I have a broad range of property, commercial and private client expertise which has allowed me to advise clients through differing stages of their commercial and private lives.  New business opportunities are always exciting and knowing your clients well helps in guiding them through the various issues to sensible pragmatic solutions.

What I like doing after hours

My formerly active sporting activity has now become a passion for watching most sports (but in particular rugby and cricket) and I still get a thrill out of travel, both overseas and within New Zealand with my wife, Julie.  We also have a great bach in Kaiteriteri and endeavour to go there when time permits and long weekends are possible.  We have a wide circle of friends and family who we also enjoy spending time with.
